Non Profit LEGO Display shows in Scotland's Central Belt
As you no doubt realise BrickM8 shows rely on the support of the LEGO fan community in the form of Displayers and Volunteers. We always aim to make sure everyone who comes to our shows has an enjoyable and fun experience and that includes all of our volunteers and displayers.
BrickM8 has an open door process to apply to display, you don't need to be a member of a club or LUG (LEGO User Group) or have displayed elsewhere. Indeed many of our displayers started out with their first ever show at a BrickM8 event.
Many of our volunteers have started out with BrickM8 and have returned time and again, giving up their time to support our shows and the good causes we support. As our shows have grown bigger and bigger we have also needed to increase our ranks of volunteers so there is often space for new volunteers to join us.
As we are run on a not-for-profit basis no-one involved with BrickM8 Shows are paid for their efforts, this means we can give the biggest donations possible to the charities we support. Each show has their own application process and separate deadlines depending on the venue and dates. Applying to display (or volunteer) at a Brick M8 show does not automatically mean you will be invited to display, often shows are over subscribed and the team will need to juggle display applications to put on the best show possible.
RULES
To apply to display or volunteer at an Brick M8 Show you must be at least 18 years old.
Displayers are expected to attend the show to look after their display.
If you are a new displayer for a Brick M8 you should have photos available on request of your recent build or builds in progress - computer renders or AI generated images are not acceptable.
Volunteers must indicate what day(s) they will be available and are expected to arrive before the show opens and stay until after closing
Most shows will have evening set up on the Friday night which displayers are encouraged to use to save set up time on the Saturday morning but this is not mandatory
Volunteer roles on the day can vary from handling Ticket sales, Minifig hunt Sales, Tombola / Raffle Stand, Greeting, Helping Set up, Giving Displayers Breaks to just walking the floor.
We cannot stress this enough - without Displayers and Volunteers no LEGO show can be successful and we want to thank everyone who gives up their time to support BrickM8 shows.
